Action Speaks! Unveils Another Exciting Fall Season

With an expanded eight-week season and a prestigious grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities, this year Action Speaks looks at moments when the rights of the individual have clashed with the needs or beliefs of the public--and where the line between private and public has been defined or blurred.

Join AS220 Wednesdays at 5:30 pm at the AS220 performance space from October 3-November 21 for the taping of this nationally-distributed radio show, with Host Marc Levitt, a trio of smart panelists, and contributions from their wonderful audience. Featured panelists in 2012 include American Civil Liberties Union President Susan Herman (October 31), and acclaimed microbiologist Ananda Chakrabarty (October 3).

Action Speaks looks at contemporary issues through the lens of history by using underappreciated moments of the twentieth-century, and provides a venue for fellow citizens to engage in thoughtful discussions about history, culture, and current events. Action Speaks democratizes public dialogue by bringing people from all walks of life together to discuss the unsung moments in our shared history. It is our hope that the Action Speaks program
contributes to a more engaged and enlightened citizenry.

Wednesdays @ 5:30pm
October 3 To November 21
