All-Star Gala Kicks Off Festival Ballet's 35th Season

Festival Ballet Providence (FBP) is pleased to announce Together We Dance 2, an All-Star Gala Performance October 10th at The Vets. Back for the second year by popular demand, Together We Dance 2 will include a lineup of some of the most treasured national and international artists. Curtain time is 7:30 pm.

Together We Dance was produced last year as a benefit concert in 2011, to help FBP through a difficult financial time. The dance community, from as far away as Lithuania, came out to support the company, as did the Rhode Island community.

The success of the program helped kick start a successful 2011-2012 season. The enthusiasm of the community and of the performers who contributed their time and talent was the impetus for this year's event. The Gala Performance this year will launch the company's landmark 35th season.

This performance is dedicated to the memory of our long-time dear friends and supporters John Sapinsley and Iona Blake Dobbins.

Misha Djuric, FBP Artistic Director said, "We lost two of Rhode Island's most outstanding patrons of the arts this past year. The company wanted to acknowledge their infinite support and commitment to the arts, and to us, over the years. This performance will be dedicated in their memory."

He added, "While we didn't plan to produce the Together We Dance as an annual event, we were encouraged by the outpouring of support and excitement it generated, both within our community and the dance world. This year's program will continue the tradition we established last year in bringing some of the finest dancers of today to perform together, in celebration of dance and of our company."
