The Neighborhood Performing Arts Initiative is an annual summer-long performing arts series that encourages Providence-based non-profit organizations and artists to create public programming for the city's diverse neighborhoods.

The performing arts series is a testament to excellence in cross-departmental work - the partnership with Parks & Recreation allows the city to present high-quality, accessible performing arts in neighborhood parks throughout the city during July and August.

The Department awards funding to Providence arts organizations and neighborhood groups. These organizations employ hundreds of Providence artists, engagd youth in the arts, and provide entertainment in virtually every neighborhood in the city all summer long.
