Director of Art, Culture + Tourism, Lynne McCormack Awarded Regional Tourism Award

On Tuesday, hundreds of tourism industry professionals joined, Governor Lincoln D. Chafee, Keith Stokes, Director RIEDC, Mark Brodeur, RI Director of Tourism and Randy Rosenbaum, Executive Director, RI State Council on the Arts for the 27th Annual RI Tourism Unity Luncheon and Travel Exchange.

Lynne McCormack, Director of Art, Culture + Tourism was recognized by the Providence/Warwick Convention and Visitor's Bureau as this year's regional honoree for her work in tourism product development and support. "Lynne and the Department of Art, Culture + Tourism, truly reflect the theme of this year's event. By ensuring the continued development of arts & culture in the city of Providence, Lynne epitomizes the theme of Beautiful Rhode Island," said Martha Sheridan, President & CEO of the Providence/Warwick Convention and Visitor's Bureau.

Jim Bennett, Providence Economic Development Director also represented the city at the event. Produced by the RI Division of Tourism, the event is a traditional gathering of tourism and hospitality professionals from every RI tourism region. Hosted by Mark Brodeur, RI Director of Tourism and sponsored by RI State Council on the Arts, this year's award presentation recognized individuals and organizations that exemplify "Beautiful Rhode Island" as a unique destination.
