    Description: URI Feinstein Providence Campus presents IMAGINATION! THE WORLD OF CHILDREN’S BOOK ILLUSTRATORS
September 1-30 2009 with a Gallery Night Reception & Book Signing September 17, 5:00-9:00 Explore the world of children books and the enchanting art that inspires children to love reading with the Children’s Book Illustrator exhibit featuring the work of 14 accomplished published area Book Illustrators including Mary Jane Begin, Margaret Burdick, Nancy Cote, Sharon Lane Holm, Kristin Kest, Tammie Lyon, Salley Mavor, John Manders, Cheryl Kirk Noll,Jamison Oden, Alison Paul, Kristin Sorra, Anna Vojtech, Rebecca Walsh.
In addition, there will be an exhibit in the 2nd floor gallery of work by Myrah Adelmann, Jeanette Bradley, Todd Casey, Cindy Cornwall, Mary Dacey, Sabrina Danna, Joyce Devine, Elaine Devonis, Carolyn M. Dooley, Laura Foltz Felice, Susan Fellows, Dina Haskins, Kristina Hickman, Janice Hodson, Cathren Housley, Mary E. Jackson, Wendy Johnston, Roger Lemelin, Debra Maher, Linda Norman-Lyman, Susan Novich, Walter Silva from the RISD Continuing Education Children’s Book Illustrator Certificate Program. Often thought of as a secondary art form, this exhibit of original art in all media illuminates the dynamic fine art created to illustrate children’s books including oil paintings, acrylic, watercolor, printmaking, drawing, collage, construction and fabric art. The exhibit will give a cross section of work by these artists showing their individual range and also the process from beginning sketches to final art and published books.
Book signing will take place on Gallery Night September 17th from 5-9pm.
Readings from the featured books September 17th 6:30pm and September 19th at 10:00am URI Providence Campus Gallery 80 Washington St. 1st and 2nd floor lobbies
