Experts Discuss Arts + Urban Revitalization Strategies: Providence Named in Interview

In an attempt to gain insight on the relationship between the arts and urban revitalization, Julia Serazio of Next American City magazine interviewed three experts "with firsthand experience in leveraging creativity into change" for their winter issue: Robert Lynch, President & CEO of Americans for the Arts; Fred Lazarus, president of the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore; and Edgar Arceneaux, executive director of the Watts House Project in central Los Angeles.

Lynch mentioned the City of Providence's arts friendly policy in response to a question about how cities can attract and retain artistic talent. "A city through its policies can make a difference -- they can create tax incentives, as Providence did," he said.
