"Of 2 Natures"

"Of 2 Natures," this month's show at The Gallery at City Hall, features the work of Maria Napolitano and Michele Provost. Both artists make paintings that reference the natural world and all its metaphoric possibilities. They are particularly interested in exploring avenues of expression through spacious surfaces and intimate views. The opening reception will be on Thursday, November 12 from 5-7 and the show will be on view through the month. For further information on these artists please visit www.marianapolitano.com and www.nineteenonpaper.com

During his first month in office Mayor David N. Cicilline created the Gallery at City Hall to showcase the work of local artists. Offering space to artists and organizations that might not have a permanent gallery, the Gallery at City Hall has held an eclectic array of work highlighting the artistic and cultural diversity that is found in the Providence community.

Shows are held on a monthly basis and often coincide with cultural events occurring elsewhere in the City of Providence. Past shows have included a number of student art exhibits, demonstrating the Mayor’s continued interest in education.

The Gallery at City Hall is open during regular business hours, 8:30 am to 4:00 pm. Artists and organizations interested in displaying their work should contact Paul Brooks at 401-421-2489.
