Grouplove Will Leave You "Tongue Tied" At Waterplace Park

Providence, RI - Mayor Angel Taveras, the Department of Art, Culture + Tourism and 95.5 WBRU are pleased to announce a performance by Grouplove on July 6 as part of this summer's Friday Night Concert Series at Waterplace Park. This performance is free and open to the public and begins at 7:30pm.

One of the most talked about new bands on the planet, Grouplove released their highly anticipated full length debut "Never Trust a Happy Song" last September. The 12 song collection was produced by the band's own Ryan Rabin and features the hit singles "Colours" and "Tongue Tied." An early favorite of NPR's All Songs Considered, show host Bob Boilen selected "Tongue Tied" as his song of the summer in advance of the album's release.

Fresh off the heels of the album's release, "Colours" garnered a slot on the soundtracks of hot selling video game franchises Madden NFL 12, FIFA 12 and MLB 2K12.

In November, "Tongue Tied" appeared in a wildly popular Apple iPod Touch commercial and began its ascent up the Alternative Radio chart. "Tongue Tied" made its live national television debut with a raucous performance on ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live in January.

Earlier in May, Grouplove was named MTV's PUSH (Play Until Someone Hears) Artist of the Week, garnering near constant exposure on the channel while the companion music video for "Tongue Tied" is in rotation at both MTV2 and mtvU.

"Tongue Tied" currently resides at the #1 position on Billboard's Alternative Songs Chart.
