Providence College's Department of Theatre, Dance and Film presents Curtains, the 2007 Broadway hit musical, directed by guest artist Jimmy Calitri, who returns to the Angell Blackfriars Theatre for the third time after directing The Sweetest Swing in Baseball (2011) and Lend Me a Tenor (2012).
Curtains is a classic comedy "whodunit" with a decidedly un-classic twist - the investigating detective seems unable to decide between finding the murderer or finding the perfect dance step when he is called in to solve the mysterious death of the leading lady in the musical-within-the-musical Robbin' Hood. Lieutenant Cioffi sequesters the cast and crew until further notice, but the murderer is still on the loose in the locked theatre. Actors, dancers, and singers are all under suspicion, except perhaps, the one who has caught Cioffi's eye - is he blinded by love, or by the footlights?
