| Cryptic Providence Final Days |

Rescheduled Final Day October 4, 12pm - 6pm, North Burial Ground, 5 Branch Avenue, Free And Open To The Public. Since June, the historic North Burial Ground in has been hosting an art and performance project by Provincetown artist Jay Critchley. Some of the highlights of the final day include:
Footnotes: A Tribute To Albert J. Jones A performance and installation by historian Nancy Austin (Newport, R.I.) and Artist Caroline Woolard (Brooklyn, N.Y.) and featuring a tea party at 3pm.
Final Repose: A Historical & Artistic Walking Tour, 1pm - 2:30pm This tour will examine the complex interweave of natural and man-made elements in NBG, the cemetery's evolution in response to changing attitudes toward death and burial practices, and select historical and artistic features.

Approximately 300 professional and amateur artists from New England will create 165 works of art on the surface and walkways of the Skating Center. For best views of artists working, come between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. The art is on view all day, until the event closes at about 10 p.m. There will be music from noon on, food concessions will be open all day, and draft beer will be on sale in the afternoon and evening. RI Foundation Arts In Academics Grant. This fund supports educational projects that integrate art disciplines into other core academic subjects to benefit Rhode Island public school students. Call For Entries: Letters About Literature. The Center for the Book in the Library of Congress, in partnership with Target Stores and in cooperation with affiliate state centers for the book, invites readers in grades 4 through 12 to enter Letters About Literature, a national reading-writing contest. To enter, readers write a personal letter to an author explaining how that author's work changed the reader's way of thinking about the world or themselves. The deadline is December 6.
