l'Esperance Mandolin Ensemble Holiday Concert

REBORN Gospel & Jazz Holiday Concert

This year's benefit concert will feature 7-time Grammy-nominated Kirk Whalum and the REBORN Concert Choir under the professional direction of Geoffrey D. Hicks of Boston and Kim Trusty of Providence. Artist Opportunities

Call For Volunteers. Bright Night Providence - RI's largest New Year's Eve Celebration, is seeking over 100 volunteers to help make this year's New Year's Eve Celebration safe and fun for everyone. Volunteers will work 3-4 hour shifts on New Year's Eve, giving information to patrons, checking wristbands, putting up posters and doing other work to make sure that the festival runs smoothly. Also, limited opportunities for volunteering in the weeks before New Year's Eve and in the weeks after the festival are available. Call For Providence Based Artists. Providence's new BUY ART campaign is designed to thank all holiday shoppers who buy art from our City's galleries, stores, museums, artist sales and artists. Call For Film Entries. The Rhode Island International Film Festival (RIIFF) is now accepting entries for its 13th Annual Film Festival to be held August 4-9th, 2009 at venues throughout the state of Rhode Island. Public Art Call To Artists. Program Workshop December 17, 1pm - 3pm, RI State Council On The Arts, One Capital Hill, Third Floor. The New England Foundation for the Arts is administering a request for qualifications for six different public art projects in Northern New England. Artists and artist teams from all six New England States are eligible to apply. Deadline for artist submissions is Thursday, January 15, 2009. For more information please click here.

Call For Actors. December 16 & 17, 6pm - 9pm, Columbus Theatre, 270 Broadway. Rise On Broadway is pleased to announce auditions for their production of West Side Story. Those auditioning will need to prepare two musical pieces, one being from the production. Please be prepared to do a cold reading as well as a dance routine with their choreographer. The Rhode Island Council for the Humanities is seeking nominations of qualified individuals to serve on its Board of Directors, a working board that requires time and energy from its members.
