Jeremy Nowak is a nationally recognized leader in urban development. His recent publications examine the role of art and culture in neighborhood regeneration; policy options for distressed cities; and, the role of development finance for older industrial cities. Nowak is currently a Fellow at the Aspen Institute, in a program for entrepreneurial leaders in education, and a member of a Harvard University (Kennedy School) Executive Session on transforming cities through civic entrepreneurship.

Photographs and drawings are sought from kids and professional artists alike across the Ocean State to support the Year of Science theme for the month of June: Oceans & Water. They are seeking artistic works that show us what a day without the ocean would be like. Selected photos will appear on a rotating basis on June's Year of Science Ocean and Water website. Trinity Repertory Company's Young Actors Summer Institute Now Enrolling
For the fifth summer, Trinity Rep will open its doors for boys and girls in grades 5-12 to explore a world of creativity and theater under the instruction of RI's most knowledgeable theater professionals with the Young Actors Summer Institute. The Summer Institute offers students a challenging five weeks of study in the fields of acting, playwriting, dance and much more. New Roots Providence Grants
New Roots Providence is a program of the Providence Plan. Its purpose is to build the capacity of faith and community organizations by providing training, grants and technical assistance. New Roots will give Capacity Building Grants to individual organizations and partners of organizations working in Providence, Kent and Bristol counties. Grants will be used for activities that strengthen organizations and increase their ability to serve people in need. Access For All Abilities Grant
The Paul V. Sherlock Center on Disabilities at Rhode Island College is soliciting applications from organizations and businesses providing social, recreational, leisure and cultural activities in Rhode Island communities for "Access for All Abilities" (AAA) Mini-Grants. To be eligible, the applicant must be a for-profit or non-profit organization or business or city or town government agency offering social, leisure, recreational, or cultural activities to the general public in Rhode Island.
