M+D+F 2009 is a juried exhibition to uncover and promote innovative modern furniture by emerging designers in the Northeast. Organized by the Design Within Reach Providence Studio and juried by local creative professionals in the design, architecture and art worlds, M+D+F provides an opportunity for peer, public and professional recognition for up-and-coming designers and firms. Call For Photographs & Drawings
Photographs and drawings are sought from kids and professional artists alike across the Ocean State to support the Year of Science theme for the month of June: Oceans & Water.  They are seeking artistic works that show us what a day without the ocean would be like. Selected photos will appear on a rotating basis on June’s Year of Science Ocean and Water website.  Please send a digital image (photograph or scanned drawing) and caption explaining your thoughts, and include a caption no longer than 80 words, your name, and your grade or occupation with your submission. National Arts Marketing Conference Proposals
Americans for the Arts invites you to submit a proposal for the National Arts Marketing Project Conference in Providence on October 30 - November 2, 2009. This internationally-recognized conference by and for arts marketers and fundraisers invites proposals that focus on all aspects revenue-generation for the arts. Trinity Repertory Company's Young Actors Summer Institute Now Enrolling
For the fifth summer, Trinity Rep will open its doors for boys and girls in grades 5-12 to explore a world of creativity and theater under the instruction of RI's most knowledgeable theater professionals with the Young Actors Summer Institute.  The Summer Institute offers students a challenging five weeks of study in the fields of acting, playwriting, dance and much more.  The Summer Institute runs from June 29 to August 1 in the Pell Chafee Performance Center.  For more information please call 521-1100 X230 or click here.
  
New Roots Providence Grants
New Roots Providence is a program of the Providence Plan.  Its purpose is to build the capacity of faith and community organizations by providing training, grants and technical assistance.  New Roots will give Capacity Building Grants to individual organizations and partners of organizations working in Providence, Kent and Bristol counties.  Grants will be used for activities that strengthen organizations and increase their ability to serve people in need.  The Request For Proposals, with full instructions, can be obtained by clicking here.  The deadline to submit is March 20.  For more information please email Bernadette by clicking here.
 
Access For All Abilities Grant
The Paul V. Sherlock Center on Disabilities at Rhode Island College is soliciting applications from organizations and businesses providing social, recreational, leisure and cultural activities in Rhode Island communities for “Access for All Abilities” (AAA) Mini-Grants.  To be eligible, the applicant must be a for-profit or non-profit organization or business or city or town government agency offering social, leisure, recreational, or cultural activities to the general public in Rhode Island.  The deadline to apply is March 2.  For more information and to download an application please click here.

PPAC ARTS Scholarships 2009 
Twenty-Five scholarships valued at up to $500 each will be awarded to qualified RI students ages 11 - 14 to attend local, summer arts education programs. Applications are available here and must be submitted by March 6.  For more information please call 421-2997.
 
Space For Rent
Located on 91 Hartford Avenue in Olneyville, this is one of the few existing mill buildings presently being redeveloped for smaller industrial uses.  Spaces in this mill start at 668 sq ft  and are typically in the 2500 sq ft to 4000 sq ft range. All the units are upgraded with a new 60 amp service and additional electric is available as well as gas and water for processing. Rental rates include heat, electric is separately metered and common trash pickup has a monthly fee.  For more information please click here.
