Providence Latino CommUNITY Celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month
Mayor David N. Cicilline, the City of Providence Department of Art, Culture + Tourism, and the Hispanic Heritage Project will collaborate to promote activities taking place locally during the national observation of Hispanic Heritage Month, September 15-October 15.  Call For Providence Based Artists
The City of Providence, Department of Art, Culture + Tourism is seeking submissions from Providence artists working across all visual mediums for the BUY ART 2009 button campaign. Thumbnail visuals from five artists will be selected by a jury and incorporated into the city’s 2009 series of limited edition “I BUY ART” buttons. 15,000 of these buttons are produced and distributed to venues so that art buyers during the holiday season get thanked. Selected artists will receive a stipend of $500.  
Submission specs: 
Please send us one compressed jpeg or tiff file at 300 dpi of your art. Select an entire piece, a detail or take a picture of a 3D piece that could make a strong button. The BUY ART Providence jury is seeking a range of submissions across mediums, artist career and aesthetic styles.
 
Email your submission to Michael Christofaro with your Providence address (home or studio) and contact phone number by close of business September 4th. The jury will take place during the second week of September. Artists will be notified by September 30th.

Trinity Rep Adult AEA Auditions 
Trinity Rep will be holding annual local adult AEA auditions on Monday, August 24 and Tuesday, August 25 beginning at 9:00 AM. Auditions are by appointment only. Rhode Island Civic Chorale Auditions 
The Rhode Island Civic Chorale & Orchestra (RICCO), Rhode Island’s oldest continuing community choral ensemble, is announcing auditions to sing with the ensemble during its 53rd concert season.
