Providence Latino CommUNITY Celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month
Mayor David N.  Call For Child Dancers
The Festival Ballet Providence Center for Dance Education will hold auditions for a variety of children's roles (ages 7 and up) to appear in RI's premiere professional ballet company's presentation of their lavish holiday treat The Nutcracker. The auditions will take place on Sunday, September 13 at their studio located at 825 Hope St.on Providence's historic East Side. Trinity Repertory Company will be holding an open call for child actors on Saturday, September 26, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Cardi’s Furniture Superstore (Route 1A, South Attleboro , MA ) for its 33rd annual production of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol, directed by Birgitta Victorson. Children ages 8-12 are welcome to audition, although children who turn 13 before December 31, 2009, are not eligible. The Hive Archive seeks art and art installation proposals from Rhode Island women artists for The Hive’s Work by Women Billboard.  The Hive is a women-run feminist arts organization with a mission to promote gender equality by dismantling obstacles that limit women and girls in reaching their full creative potential.  Their work is focused on empowerment through art, creative expression, and civic involvement.  Interested artists can download the full project description and proposal guidelines by clicking here.  The deadline to submit is September 18.
