

Rhode Island businesses, entrepreneurs, local residents and city and state officials will dance the night away while enjoying the nationally recognized Waterfire exhibit on Saturday, August 13th. The first-ever fundraiser combining the two organizations will have salsa dancing lessons, open bar and Latino wines, catered appetizers and desserts. The VIP tent will be located under the Turk's Head Building, the festivities lasting from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Tickets sold at $75 per person go toward PLAFF's 19th annual festival showcasing Latin American, Portuguese and Spanish films. The 2011 festival takes place September 15-18 throughout Rhode Island at various theaters. PLAFF has shown more than 660 feature films, shorts, documentaries and animations. Past guests include Antonio Banderas and Danny Glover, to name a couple, as well as prominent New York and Los Angeles movie directors and producers.
