Providence College Presents "The Illusion"

Providence College's Department of Theatre, Dance and Film presents The Illusion, by Tony Kushner and directed by Providence College senior Patrick Mark Saunders and Providence College's Associate Professor and Managing Director of Theatre John Garrity.

In Kushner's adaptation of the 17th century L'Illusion Comique, a desperate father turns to the magic of a sorcerer in order to reunite him with the son he cast away fifteen years prior. The sorcerer conjures various scenes from the son's life, and it is up to the father to decipher the truth in these visions.

Guest artists will feature scenic design by 2009 Motif Theatre Award winner and principal for StudioSeven7 Sara Ossana of Warren, R, costume design by Mike Floyd of New York, lighting design by 2010 Motif Award winner Jen Rock of Jen Rock Designs, and sound design by Providence College alum Paul Perry of Chicago.
