Raku Rhody-o is an interactive ceramic firing event in which
everyone has the opportunity to select & glaze a teabowl or small
plate. Their artists assist each person in choosing & applying
glaze and then fire the pieces in small portable kilns up to about
1800 degrees, open and unload them at red heat and place the pieces in reduction chambers which cause the glazes to become brightly metallic and quite different from traditionally fired pots. The
effect is spectacular, as is the process.
There will be an on-site Gallery featuring the work of all the
artists participating in Raku Rhody-o.
