Councilman John J. Igliozzi Announces New Playground at Carnevale School

Councilman John J. Igliozzi announced today that a new playground is being installed at the Anthony Carnevale Elementary School at 50 Springfield Street in Ward 7. The project is a joint venture of ARAMARK and Councilman Igliozzi, who secured City funding for the construction.

The playground will service the 600 students at the school as well as many more children throughout the Hartford neighborhood. The park also features rubber flooring designed to prevent injuries. The playground will be equipped with swings, slides, climbing stations, and more.

This new playground is part of the on going revitalization efforts in Ward 7. Other projects include the Neutaconkanut Recreation Center, the Neutaconkanut Park’s rehabilitated baseball and football fields, lighted walking paths, skateboard and water parks, basketball courts and walking trails, as well as the addition of a new playground at Merino Park.

“I am proud to spend neighborhood bond money on projects that improve the conditions for children and families in Ward 7,” said Councilman Igliozzi, “Providing clean and safe places for children to congregate is of the utmost importance to the future of this neighborhood.”
