Peter S. Mancini
Ward 14 - Biography






Council President Peter S. Mancini was elected to his leadership position in 2007.

 

In 1990, he was elected to represent Ward Fourteen of the City of Providence.  Councilman Mancini is Chairman of the Committee on Claims and Pending Suits and serves on the Committee on Finance. In addition, he is also a member of the Board of Park Commissioners. Previously, he served on the Committee on City Property, Providence Civic Center Authority, Providence City Plan Commission and the Water Supply Board.

 

A lifelong resident of Providence, Council President Mancini is a graduate of Mount Pleasant High School and Roger Williams College with a degree in psychology.  In 1973, he began a long and diverse career with the State of Rhode Island.  Peter recently retired from his position as a Program Planner with the RI Department of Children, Youth and Families after 33 years of dedicated service.

 

Council President Mancini is affiliated with the Knights of Columbus-Dillon Council and the Sons of Italy-Loggia Victoria.

 

He resides in the North End.
