Building Board of Review

The Building Board of Review ("Board") has the authority to grant relief from the Rhode Island State Building Code ("Code").

To appear before the Board you must first be refused a building permit. This is to ensure that you have had a complete Code review.

To submit to the Board you must file the following items with the City's Building Official at the Department of Inspection and Standards. You may contact Mr. Anderson at 421-7740 x365 or Kanderson@providenceri.com.

The applicant must submit:

• (2)Signed Original Applications.
  
• (2)Sets of scaled drawings specific to the relief requested.
  
• Check made payable to the Providence City Collector in the amount of $440.00.

Upon filing your application, your request will be placed on the next available docket. Two weeks prior to the scheduled hearing the applicant will be notified in writing.
