Prosecution

The Prosecution Division takes legal action against property owners in violation of the RI Property Maintenance Code, the Building Code and the City Zoning Ordinance. When property owners fail to comply voluntarily with the notice of violation issued by the Structures and Zoning Division and/or the Code Enforcement Division of the Department of Inspection and Standards, the matter is referred to the Prosecution Division to process for Housing Court.

The cases are presented by an Assistant City Solicitor and the Department's Prosecution Coordinator.
