The Electrical Division oversees all work related to the installation of electrical systems, including alterations, repairs, replacement, equipment, appliances, fixtures, fittings, and appurtenances thereto. The Electrical division aims to protect the lives of residents and their property by ensuring that all electrical work installed meets the state mandated codes through the issuance of electrical permits, inspections, and approvals required by law whenever electrical work is performed.

All contractors must carry the proper licenses to perform the work of the project. Single family owner-occupied homeowners may take out a permit to do the work themselves only if they can demonstrate a level of competency in performing the work.
