Yard Debris Pick-Up Begins This Week In Providence

Tuesday, April 3, 2012

The City of Providence Department of Public Works announced today that yard debris pick-up begins this week.

Residents can bring yard debris to the curb with their regular recycling and trash. Loose debris must be bagged or contained in a yard clipping barrel. Sticks and trimmings must be cut to 4 feet or smaller and tied together. Yard debris may not be placed inside plastic bags.

"The return of spring is an exciting time for all Providence residents. As our neighbors prepare their yards for a season of barbecues and ball playing, we hope everyone joins our effort to leave a smaller footprint and help us recycle and compost yard debris," said Mayor Angel Taveras. "Starting this week, the Department of Public Works will collect yard debris on normal recycling and trash pickup days."

Additional information about yard debris pick up can be found on the Department of Public Works page.
