Providence Homeowners: Take Advantage of Foreclosure Prevention Program

Hardest Hit Fund Rhode Island to host upcoming community meetings


If you are a Providence homeowner that is having difficulty making mortgage payments due to a documented financial hardship such a sudden loss of a job, underemployment, unforeseen medical expenses or the disability of a family's key wage-earner, the Hardest Hit Fund Rhode Island may help.

Informational and open-to-the-public meetings on a foreclosure-prevention program will be held in Providence at the following locations and dates:

The SWAP Community Room
500 Broad Street
Saturday, March 26, 2011
Presentation begins at 11 a.m.
English presentation; Spanish translator

Nickerson House Community Center
133 Delaine Street
Thursday, March 31, 2011
Presentation begins at 6 p.m.
English presentation; Spanish translator

DaVinci Center
470 Charles Street
Saturday, April 9, 2011
Presentation begins at 11 a.m.
English presentation; Spanish translator

Materials will be available in English and Spanish. A translator will be in attendance for some meetings as noted above.

The U.S. Treasury has made available to Rhode Islanders $80 million to help those at risk of losing their homes. Rhode Island Housing has been designated by the Treasury to oversee the funds. The agency will be processing, approving and administering the submissions from lenders, servicers and specially trained HHFRI certified counselors.
