The City of Providence has begun to use a new Emergency Notification System called CodeRed. CodeRed is an Emergency Notification System that allows City emergency officials to notify residents, commuters and businesses in Providence regarding time sensitive emergency notifications via phone, cell phone, text, email and social media.
When you sign up for CodeRed, you will be getting alerts such as AMBER Alerts, notifications of hazardous incidences, boil water advisories, evacuation notices, and severe weather alerts.
We are encouraging residents to sign up for this life saving service. The City of Providence is committed to protecting its residents, businesses and the people who visit our beautiful city.
Once signed up for CodeRed please store the following number as "CodeRed Emergency" in your phone so it will not come up as an unknown number; 866-419-5000.
The Code Red Mobile App that can be downloaded for Android or Apple Devices. The CodeRed Mobile App allows users to access CodeRed alerts based on their geographic location.
