The City of Providence Emergency Management Agency (PEMA) is conducting a Full Scale Exercise (FSE) with AMTRAK, various Metropolitan Medical Response System (MMRS) communities and the RI Emergency Management Agency (RIEMA) on Saturday, October 5, 2013 from 7:30 AM to 4 PM.
The FSE will take place in two locations; Wickford Junction Station, North Kingston and Royal Little Drive, Providence.
PEMA is looking for 100 motivated volunteers to play the role of passengers aboard an AMTRAK train. The FSE will consist of a Law Enforcement and Emergency Medical Service (EMS) response to an incident aboard the train.
All volunteers will meet at the corner of Royal Little Drive and Felix Mirando Way in Providence at 7:30 AM where they will be checked-in, issued a badge and boarded onto RIPTA busses that will depart for Wickford Junction at 8:00 AM. Volunteers can park their cars for free inside the AAA lot. No volunteers will be allowed to drive their POV to Wickford.
Once at Wickford Junction Station, all volunteers will receive a safety brief and be assigned specific roles. A select few volunteers will be designated as "injured" that will require the application of theatrical make-up or moulage. We ask all volunteers to wear clothing that they don't mind getting dirty, torn or having theatrical make-up applied to.
Once the FSE begins, all volunteers will board the AMTRAK at Wickford Junction Station for the first part of the exercise. The train will depart around 12 noon with all volunteers aboard for the second part of the exercise at Royal Little Drive in Providence. Once the Royal Little Drive portion is complete the FSE will end and volunteers will be allowed to return to their vehicles in the AAA parking lot down the street from the AMTRAK train.
