- You must be at least 18 years of age to adopt. If you are 18 years of age and live at home with your parent or parents you must have permission from a parent.
- We do not do second party adoptions. If you are looking for an animal for someone else, they must be the one to fill out the application, unless it is for your child, husband, or wife living with you.
- You must provide proof you own your own home or have your landlords' permission (a notarized letter) to own a pet. If you rent, you will need to provide us with your landlord's name and number, and if you have a lease we must see a copy of your lease agreement.
If you are interested in adopting and animal from us it's always better to fill out an application first before coming down. Applications can take up to 5 days to process.
After an animal has been held for seven days at the shelter and is unclaimed, the animal may be placed for adoption. The new animal owner is responsible for a sterilization fee. There is also a $10.00 adoption fee. Normally the shelter has approximately 40 dogs and 25 cats available at any given time.
