Eco-Crusaders: Urban Discovery
Enroll your budding scientist in our garden-based day camp!
Camp weeks are staffed by URI Science and Engineering Fellow undergraduates and Cooperative Extension staff counselors with curriculum designed for students entering grades 1-6.
July 28 - Aug 1, 2014 | 9:00-3:30 p.m. daily
Grades 3-6 (ages 8-12)
Roger Williams Park Botanical Center, Providence
This week encourages kids entering grades 3-6 to take a closer look at RI's environment, empowering them to "be the change they want to see in the world." Why do we compost and who lives in the compost pile? Why do we need pollinators and how can we attract them to the garden? What can we do to protect the water we drink, swim and fish in? Campers will learn the importance of land stewardship and the processes that bring our food from farm to table. Lunch is included.
Registration: $150.00/wk, $40/day (1-4 days)
Discounts: 30% off weekly rate for 2 or more siblings!
Scholarships: Camp scholarships may be available. Email us for more information.
*All camp counselors are First Aid + CPR certified.
