Join us this April School Vacation as we bring you a series of art and eco-themed classes in a warm, inviting setting: the Roger Williams Park Botanical Center in Providence! All classes include the entrance fee to the Botanical Center for one child and one adult.
*Two FREE spaces will be reserved in each class for Providence residents.
From raindrop to reservoir, students learn how to take small steps to improve the quality of our rivers, lakes and Narragansett Bay. We'll discuss why water is important and investigate the way different plants use water around the Botanical Center. We'll conduct water experiments to deepen our understanding. Each child will then craft a carp kite to let the world that they are water wise this Earth Day! Recommended for children ages 6-12.
Sally Shwartz is a URI Master Gardener and URI Learning Landscape Program environmental educator.
