Gardening decisions intersect with important environmental issues in countless ways. How much water are we using? Will fertilizers or pesticides end up in nearby streams, or coastal areas? What alternatives are available? How will my plants affect the local habitat? Are they invasive? Do they benefit wildlife? These and other questions are on the minds of responsible gardeners.
Join Kate Venturini, Research Associate at the University of Rhode Island Outreach Center, for a program designed to help the home gardener improve the health of the local landscape. Whether your patch of the earth is a tiny urban plot or a larger suburban yard, learn how to plan and implement your gardening choices in ways that protect and restore local habitats and resources.
