• Any purchase over $5000 must go out to bid.
  
• Bids are to be returned to the City Clerk's office.
  
• Emergency work that is being done must come for payment approval.
  
• Plans and Specifications may be obtained at the Office Of The Purchasing Director, Third Floor, City Hall, Providence, RI 02903.
  

Overview - The Department of Public Property shall also be responsible for the Board of Contract and Supply, for all purchasing and procurement of materials, supplies, contractual services, equipment and all other necessary categories of procurement for the city. The City Clerk's Department clerks the Board of Contract and Supply.

The Division of Purchasing oversees the purchasing of supplies for the city under the Department of Public Property. The Board of Contract and Supply is empowered with advertising, overerseeing and administering all procedures for purchases exceeding $5,000.
