Important information relative to Lobbyist Registration for the City of Providence

Although by its terms, the Lobbyists' Registration Ordinance takes effect on July 1, 2011, the City does not currently have the essential business processes in place to handle such registrations.

In order to demonstrate good faith and to effectuate the ordinance to the extent possible under the circumstances, anyone who would normally register should send an email to the City Clerk astetson@providenceri.com with the subject line "LOBBYIST", include in the body of the email the name, address, telephone number, email address, and lobbying client.

No registration fee will be due or accepted until the on-line portal is available. Once it is, the City Clerk will email each individual who provided contact information so that the registration process can be completed.
