Providence Tomorrow
Neighborhood Charrettes

In May, 2006, Mayor Cicilline and the City Council announced the creation of Providence Tomorrow–an innovative and inclusive planning process designed to create a framework for growth and preservation of Providence neighborhoods.

Charrettes - these multi-day planning sessions are for people to participate in a variety of ways during a one-week period where ideas expressed at the beginning of the week can be transformed into plans by the end of that week.

These charrettes will bring together residents, business owners, nonprofit organizations, community development corporations and everyone who has an interest in Providence and what its downtown, neighborhoods, green spaces and waterfront look like—now and in the future. The information gathered during these intensive planning events will be used to revise the comprehensive plan and individual neighborhood plans.
