A Vision to Get Behind

Providence Business News gave a tip of the hat to Providence Mayor Taveras and Economic Development director Jim Bennett yesterday, in an editorial about making greater use of Providence's working waterfront. The article, A blue-collar vision for city's Allens Ave. talks about recent addition of Sims Metal Recycling to the waterfront, and the City's concerted effort to expand opportunities for well-paying, higher-skilled jobs. The editor writes, "What matters most to Bennett and Providence Mayor Angel Taveras is the creation of high-paying, blue-collar jobs. Now that's a vision that's easy to get behind."
