The world's oldest sorority, Alpha Kappa Alpha, will hold its 81st North Atlantic Regional Convention, in the city of Providence April 18 - 22.
The AKA Sorority began on Howard University campus in 1908, and today there are more than one-quarter million college-educated members dedicated to community service.
The annual Convention, led by Mrs. Constance R. Pizarro, Regional Director, will hold several days of meetings for its 2,500 plus members, and conduct community outreach programs, including a Youth Summit on April 21, open to Providence area youth at the West End Community Center, and a donation of personal products to area women in need.
