Smoke & Carbon Monoxide Detector Distribution and Inspections Program

Low-income and handicapped residents can obtain free detectors from the Fire Department; Property owners can call to schedule an inspection.

If you need to report suspicious activity regarding an arsonist, or have information on the cause of a fire, call us at the Arson Tip Hotline. Tips may be left anonymously.

Are you aware of potentially unsafe or hazardous conditions that may cause a fire?

Register a complaint during normal business hours by calling 243-6050 or by visiting the fire department in-person. Anonymous complaints are accepted.

Building plans can now be submitted and reviewed electronically!

Providence's ePlan Review accepts electronic submissions in over 200 different formats for review by DIS, Fire, DPW, Water, and Forestry.
