The Mayor's Fellowship and Internship Programs
David N. Cicilline, Mayor

Overview:

Fellowships and Internships in the City of Providence are an exciting and creative way to get involved in the community, while also gaining valuable work experience. Interns are able to see first-hand how the City functions on a daily basis, as well as learn how long term goals and policies are constructed. Students gain hands-on experience with city government and develop skills that will serve them well in future occupations. Internships in the City are unpaid, volunteer positions and there is great flexibility in scheduling internship hours with no minimum time commitment. Students may choose to work during the summer, school semesters or even year-round. To apply for an internship, email Mr. Brooks and schedule an appointment to complete an application and an interview. Positions are available in a number of city departments and great care is taken to match student interests and skills with the needs of each office.
