CITY COLLECTOR

The City of Providence is seeking candidates for the position if City Collector. The City Collector reports to the Director of Finance and is responsible for the billing and collection of taxes and all monies due to the City of Providence.

Qualified candidates shall have a law degree or an undergraduate degree in accounting or finance with a minimum of five (5) years experience as a collector. The successful candidate must have the ability to develop and implement department policies and procedures, possess leadership qualities, have strong analytical skills, as well as demonstrated experience and a thorough knowledge of tax and office software applications, municipal tax collection laws and procedures, back office and teller operations, including proper cash receipt practices, internal controls, and automated payment solutions.
