Children's Friend Kicks Off Annual Spirit of Giving Holiday Drive

Please join Children's Friend for the kickoff their annual "Spirit of Giving Holiday Drive" on Tuesday, November 1. The event will take place from 5-7PM at McFadden's Restaurant, at 52 Pine Street in Providence.

For many of us, the holidays are a time of joy and happiness. But for many families in poverty, the holiday season is consumed with concerns about paying for heat and having warm clothes while also findingt a way to provide celebratory meals or gifts for small children.

Together, we can help families put a smile on the faces of their children this holiday season. One child may need a pair of shoes or boots for cold feet or new warm clothing for the long winter months. The gift of a new game may surprise a child and bring the family together for a night of fun! Maybe a child needs a soft cuddly animal to hug at night in a homeless shelter. The holiday wishes that you fulfill are much more than gifts. They are symbols of caring and hope to families living in poverty.

The Spirit of Giving Holiday Drive has become a tradition for many. Last year, Children's Friend was able to provide holiday gifts to more than 840 families. In addition, each of the more than 1,200 children in Children's Friends' classrooms received a gift. With your help, we hope to brighten this holiday season for more than 1,000 families.
