Mayor Angel Taveras' Healthy Communities Office, the Department of Parks and Recreation and the Friends of Corliss Park are pleased to invite residents of all ages to a FREE Family Zumba Fest on Saturday, July 12, 2014 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Roger Williams Park, near the Broad Street entrance to the park.
The festival will feature free Zumba instruction, music, dance, healthy food, and fun activities for children, including face painting and the YMCA of Greater Providence's Y on the Move inflatable obstacle course.
Zumba is a fitness program that combines Latin and International music with dance themes that create a dynamic, exciting, effective fitness system that is fun and easy to follow. Zumba incorporates the principles of interval training and resistance training to maximize fitness outcomes.
