Join Mayor Taveras at "Taste of the Hill" Celebration on Nov. 2

9th Annual event hosted by Federal Hill House Association helps support neighborhood programs, features world-class cuisine from the Hill.

The Federal Hill House Association, a nonprofit organization serving one of Providence's largest multiethnic communities, is honoring Mayor Angel Taveras at its 9th annual Taste of the Hill event on Wednesday, November 2. The event is from 6-10PM at the Roger Williams Park Botanical Center.

"This year we are especially pleased to be honoring Mayor Taveras, who served on our Board of Directors for 13 years," said Nina Pande, FHHA's executive director. "Mayor Taveras' contributions to the Federal Hill House while on our board were significant. We can't thank him enough for everything he did for us as a board member. Attendees at Taste of the Hill will also get a chance to taste great food from many of Federal Hill's best restaurants and tour the Botanical Center, which seems to get better each year."

Taste of The Hill features music, a silent auction, art, pastries, fine food, and wine. Proceeds from the event will help fund FHHA's community programs. Taste of the Hill was first held in 2002. Since then, it's grown to become one of Southern New England's premier food, wine, and art events.

"As a longtime board member and now as Mayor, I have firsthand knowledge of Federal Hill House's work to provide vital services and support to many in our community. Taste of the Hill is a wonderful celebration of food and culture in Providence and an important fundraising event for Federal Hill House. I am honored to play a special role in this year's event, and look forward to sharing an enjoyable evening of music, food and friends in support of Federal Hill House," said Mayor Taveras.
