Family movie nights feature 'Night at the Museum' and 'X Men: Days of Future Past.'
Mayor Angel Taveras invites families to celebrate the end of the summer with the City of Providence's free outdoor movie nights in Waterplace Park. The series will feature Night at the Museum on Friday, August 22, 2014 and X-Men: Days of Future Past on Friday, August 29, 2014.
Both films begin at 7:45 p.m. in the Waterplace Park Basin and moviegoers will receive complimentary popcorn.
Night at the Museum tells the story of Larry Daley's first night shift as the security guard at the Museum of Natural History when he discovers that an ancient curse brings the animals and exhibits to life after sunset. Night at the Museum is rated PG and running time is 106 minutes.
X Men: Days of Future Past premiered in theaters in 2014 and has not yet been released on DVD. In this action-packed movie, the X-Men send Wolverine to the past to change history. X Men: Days of Future Past is rated PG-13 and running time is 131 minutes.
The outdoor film series is sponsored by Mayor Taveras and the City of Providence's Department of Parks and Recreation and the Department of Art, Culture + Tourism.
