Providence Mayor Angel Taveras has written a book entitled, How to Do Well in School, which he read aloud to a group of preschool children at the Providence Public Library today, March 1.
"Promoting literacy and a love for reading is very important to the early intellectual and academic development of our youth. I'm very happy to support programs in Providence that teach kids the value of reading," said Mayor Taveras.
The Mayor authored the book in response to a project at Ready to Learn Providence in which early childhood teachers worked with their preschool children to write "how-to" books of their own.
