Mayor Angel Taveras would love for you to come to the Rock 'n' Roll Providence Half-Marathon. The second-annual half-marathon kicks off at 7am on Sunday, August 19 on Gaspee Street in front of the State House and runs past many of Providence's renowned landmarks, including the Roger Williams Memorial and the Providence Athenaeum.
With a finale concert by pop-music duo Karmin, the Rock 'n' Roll Providence Half-Marathon is part race, part block party and all fun. For those who aren't up to a full marathon - no worries. Just grab a friend and do half!
Mayor Taveras is promoting the Rock 'n' Roll Providence Half-Marathon in an upbeat and light-hearted video produced by the Providence Warwick Convention and Visitors Bureau. The video also features Providence's much-loved Waterfire gondoliers, the hosts of WPRI's The Rhode Show, and larger-than-life characters from Big Nazo.
