
WHEREAS, Wayne Kilcline, the talented and popular music teacher at the Lillian Feinstein Elementary School
at Sackett Street, has been selected by the Providence Public School District as "Providence Teacher of the Year for 2012-2013," a prestigious title that reflects Mr. Kilcline's devotion to excellence and highlights the perennial dedication he displays toward his enthusiastic young students; and
WHEREAS, Wayne Kilcline began teaching music at Lillian Feinstein at Sackett Street in January of 1996 and often expresses a wish to retire from the elementary school where he has fostered a deep appreciation of music in generations of children; and
WHEREAS, truly an 'above and beyond' professional of the highest order, Mr. Kilcline annually produces a CD
of student work that inspires the young people in his classrooms, recording, mixing, creating the cover art and taking upon himself the multitudinous tasks that such a project always entails, the result being a treasured record of his students' talent and achievements that fills their families with pride; and
WHEREAS, the City of Providence, on this special occasion, expresses gratitude to a public school teacher of tremendous renown and stature, thanking Wayne Kilcline for sharing the magic of creativity and giving the gift of musical expression to young people who will assuredly retain the love of music
they acquired under his tutelage their entire lives;
