Mayor Taveras Proclaims September 10, 2011 Makers' Day in the City of Providence

WHEREAS, human creativity, innovation, and invention enrich our lives by creating useful, inspiring, and provocative experiences and objects; and

WHEREAS, the thousands of innovators, entrepreneurs, designers, and other makers in Providence have a rich history that goes back to the founding days of this City and this state; and

WHEREAS, the institutions of art, education, and commerce in Providence have long been associated with the creative and inventive arts; and

WHEREAS, Rhode Island Mini Maker Faire brings families from across the state together to experience the joys of invention and creation; and

WHEREAS, the creations and accomplishments of the makers participating in Rhode Island Mini Maker Faire deserve acknowledgment and celebration;
