On Wednesday morning, Mayor Angel Taveras met with members of the City's Department of Public Works for a tour of the various functions of the department, and a briefing on the department's preparations for winter weather.
"The dedicated men and women in DPW provide vital services for everyone in our city. From cleaning up debris and catch basins to inspecting environmental issues to plowing our roads during a snowstorm, I am thankful for their commitment to strengthening our quality of life in Providence," said Mayor Taveras.

Public Works Director Paul Thomas and City Engineer Bill Bombard also showed the Mayor sewer plans dating back to the 1890s and presented him with plans for digitizing Public Works records. For more info on the Department of Public Works, visit them at providenceri.com/DPW.
