Mount Pleasant High School Currently Front Runner in 'Get Schooled' Attendance Challenge

Friday, October 5, 2012

Mount Pleasant High School is currently leading the pack in the national Get Schooled attendance challenge.

The initiative, which began on October 1, encourages school participation by high school students using the power of media, technology and popular culture to motivate young people. Mount Pleasant High School is currently listed in first place on the website that details the rankings for the challenge.

At Mount Pleasant High School, the initiative kicked off with a celebrity announcement by Ciara from Get Schooled on Monday. In addition, administrators at Mount Pleasant have encouraged student participation by distributing flyers and posters with information about the program. Daily announcements remind students of the ongoing challenge.

The school's success has been a collaborative school-wide effort involving teachers from multiple content areas, support staff, administration, and students. The faculty has worked together to showcase the importance of school attendance and motivate students to diminish absenteeism.
