Mayor Angel Taveras, House Speaker Gordon Fox, and Senate President Teresa Paiva Weed invite Rhode Islanders to celebrate the Red Sox' World Series Championship on Wednesday, Nov. 20, when the Red Sox bring their 2013 Championship Trophy to Providence.
The World Series Trophy will be on display to the public at the Rhode Island Convention Center. A Red Sox Rally will take place at 3:30 p.m., followed by an opportunity for the public to take photographs with the trophy on a first-come, first-served basis from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Wally the Green Monster and some of his friends will be available for photographs with the Trophy.
The Red Sox Rally and photo opportunity with the World Series Championship Trophy are free and open to the public.
Also joining the event will be Rico Petrocelli, Red Sox Hall of Famer and former All-Star shortstop; Dr. Charles Steinberg, Red Sox executive vice president and senior advisor to the president/CEO; Jenny Dell, NESN; Dick Flavin, Fenway Park public address announcer and poet laureate of Red Sox Nation; and Wally the Green Monster.
